Rupee is one of the Caribbean’s and Soca music’s most accomplished and successful artists. He is one of very few Soca artists to impact the Billboard twice with the Global hit Tempted To Touch and Do The Damn Thing, as well as U.K. and European charts. He was able to secure a multi album deal with a major label, Atlantic Records and publishing deal with EMI/Sony/ATV. He’s also recognized in Barbados as a cultural ambassador and proponent of the arts along with being a global ambassador for AIDS and HIV awareness having lost both of his parents to AIDS. Additionally, Rupee has worked for UNITED NATION AIDS, LIVE UP and the CBMP.
One of the most toured Soca artists and breaker of new markets for Soca music. Taking Soca as far as Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Costa Rica, Panama, the UAE to name a few. Over the years, Rupee has amassed a number of Party Monarch and Road March titles not only in Barbados, but also at West Indian Carnivals in the United States and Canada. He has worked with artists such as Shaggy, Sean Paul, Rihanna, Khatera, Alison Hinds, Daddy Yankee, Lil’ Kim and more.
