Orlando Octave has been a forced to be reckoned with since starting off his career at the tender age of 10 where he won the Promenade Summer Competition in 1999. Young Octave won the hearts of many, both old and young. It was then Orlando knew that performing was his passion. As the years went by Orlando was able to secure the Junior Soca Monarch title in 2004 with his rendition of ‘Proud Of Rude Boy’. In 2008, Orlando got to experience a taste of what success smelt like as he released his reggae hit entitled ‘Darkie’. He has continuously released music over the years and has been in constant rotation on the nation’s airwaves. Orlando gained recognition both locally and internationally as he was invited to BET’s 106 and Park and also toured extensively in Canada.
Orlando writes his own music and is very instrumental and the production process of his songs. In 2016 he was featured on the R&R Rhythm with his song titled ‘Road’. The next year Orlando was responsible for one of the ‘biggest hits’ for Trinidad carnival. A song titled ‘Single’ penned by Octave and others, he was able to secure the 2nd place in the International Soca Monach, and endorsement deals with Angostura and many other companines. He toured extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
There is a lot more in-store for this ‘country boy’ as he continues to take his music way beyond Trinidad and Tobago.
